Heat shrink tubing is mainly used in the construction of carp rigs. The proper shaping of the tubing acts as a hook positioner. This significantly improves the performance of the rig, increases the hook-up rate, and prevents the fish from spitting out the rig. It is most commonly used in Sliding Rig or Line-Aligner rigs.
